General Information

Made Safe works very closely with our members to help them achieve their safety and loss prevention goals.

On January 1, Made Safe assumed responsibility for the existing Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) Safety Program, previously serving the agricultural manufacturing sector. We are pleased to be building on the impressive success of AMC Safety:

  • a 40% average reduction in Time Lost claims over the past 6 years for the industry
  • claim durations well below the provincial average for all industries
  • a 24% reduction in the average Member’s WCB premiums over the past 6 years

Made Safe is supported by CME Manitoba, widely recognized as the voice of manufacturing in the province. The safety association functions as a seperate entity and is open to all manufacturers belonging to a WCB rate group that has demonstrated support of 50 per cent of the payroll of that group.

Over the coming months, the team at Made Safe will be hard at work updating this website, formalizing services and continuing to take advantage of the momentum we have built so far.

Key features of Made Safe are:

  • Classes and courses meet or exceed legislation for workplaces and the applicable CSA standards.  All courses include documentation such as manuals, certificates and wallet cards.
  • Classes and courses are available regionally (i.e. urban centres) on a regular basis or can be delivered at your specific site.
  • Instructors have backgrounds in the manufacturing industry and other industries with specific additional education in ergonomics, audits, and professional level services.
  • Member support (noise level testing, ergonomics, inspections, audits, etc.), including written reports delivered in a timely fashion.  Our advisors follow strict rules of confidentiality.
  • Direct industry input, which will set the direction of the association.

Any organization can access Made Safe services. Member firms who contribute to the association through a WCB levy receive services at little or no charge. All others can access the programs on a fee-for-service basis.
